When Brenin was born in the Arctic wilderness of Finnish Lapland, he was given the name Korppisoturi which translates to Raven Warroir -the inspiration behind this collection. as Brenin has aged, he seems to have fully inhabited that shadowy, untamed figure, moving between the wild and the human world like a creature of folklore.
Brenin’s story is one of survival, transformation, and the raw resilience of nature. Once a fearful, chained dog in the Arctic, he grew into a creature of both the deep forest and the urban landscape, finding home wherever I was. These photographs, taken under the full moon and twighlight hues on Hackney Marshes, embody that duality; the interplay between untamed wilderness and the human world, the liminal space where instinct meets adaptation.
